(Disney, 1930) An incredibly rare Mickey Mouse writing tablet. In late 1929, Walt was at a hotel in New York when a man offered to pay him $300 to use Mickey Mouse on a series of children’s writing tablets. This became the first of many licensing deals that helped to finance the future of the studio. This tablet is from the original series and considered the first Mickey Mouse licensed product. Featuring a "Walter E. Disney" copyright note and the date 1930, the tablet measures 5.5"x8.75" and is in good condition exhibiting fading, corner creases, and light wear.
